This Week's Announcements!

The next 7^th & 8^th Grade Confirmation Class for students/parents is on Sunday, March 7 (7:00-8:30 p.m.).

Confirmation students are taking a field trip to Temple Beth Zion on Thursday, March 11. We will meet at 6:30 p.m. at church. Students can be picked up at 8:30 p.m. at church.

The next Tween CREW leadership meeting will be on Saturday, March 13 from Noon to 2:00 p.m.  Youth that stay through to the Spaghetti Dinner will be expected to help prep.

There will be a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, March 13 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  (Youth should plan on working 3:30-8:00 p.m.)  Funds raised will help pay for the July National Youth Gathering in New Orleans.  Thanks for all your support! 

St. John’s Ministry Fair is Sunday, March 14 following all services.  This is a great opportunity to find out what you are interested in and give you a chance to get involved!

There will be a “Youth Prayer Night” on Thursday, March 18 for adults and youth who want to come together to pray for the youth of our congregation and community.  Meet at 7:00 p.m. in the Youth Room.  Specific prayer requests can be sent to: nicole@stjohnsop.com 

All 3^rd through 6^th Grade Youth are invited to the next Tween Time on Friday, March 19 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the church basement.  There are skits, singing, and games all to help us grow in our relationship with Jesus.  Pizza is provided for $1 per slice.  Bring a friend!

There will be an Altar Guild Breakfast on Saturday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m.  Please check the FOW form and then come meet in the Annex Living Room.  New members are always welcomed. 

The Mom and Me group will me on Saturday, March 20 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  Please check the Fellowship of Worship form.

On Saturday, March 20 at 7:00 the movie, “Up” will be shown in the Sanctuary.  This has been a fun family night in the past and will be again!  Please check the Fellowship of Worship form or sign up on one of the many sign-up sheets around the church. 

We will be updating our directory and database, please check your 2009 Directory to make sure that we have the correct information.  If a change needs to be made, please note on FOW form.

Weekly Lenten Services:  There are two potluck dinners left: March 3, and March 17.  

Special Request: There is a request for girls clothing sizes: 2T, 5T, and size 5.  Please drop them off in the green bins with marking of “Special Request.”  Thank you.

High School EDGE will NOT meet on Feb. 28 because of the 30 Hour Famine weekend.  EDGE normally meets from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  This is a time for fun and growing in our faith together!

The Mission Board will be selling Fowler’s Easter Candy in the Lobby this weekend.  Proceeds go toward the summer mission trip.

Easter Care Packages: It’s time again to collect items for our young men and women away from home in the military or at college.  Place the items in the grocery cart in the Lobby by March 14.  If your loved ones addresses have changed; please put it on the FOW form, call me (674-8798), or call Sharon (662-4747) in the office.  Here is a list of possible items and please they need to be individually wrapped packages.  M&Ms or other candy, gum, microwave popcorn, Granola bars, nuts, peanut butter and cracker sandwiches, hot chocolate, Combos, cheese and cracker sandwiches, Trail mixes, cookies, dried fruit snacks, tea/coffee, variety of chips and pretzels, current sports/celebrity magazines, and misc. small gifts.  Thank you.

Preschool Registration has started.  If you are interested in having your child attend the 3 year old, 4 year old, or multi age-3/4 age classes, please call the Maureen Roth (4 year old and multi-age M-W-F) or Mary Felong (3 year old T-Th) at 662-4781.

Men’s Bible Study: Can We be Confident in the Bible?  That question is answered in Session 2 of “How We Got the Bible” featuring Dr. Paul L. Maier in the video/discussion series.  The group meets in the Church Library on Saturday, March 20 at 8:00 a.m.  Mark your calendar now and plan to join for fun, fellowship, and faith.  You can check the FOW form or just come!
